Hot Start Season 61

Written by Canadian Nippon at 03:35 17/5-2022

Okay, Here I am trying to complete another press release as last one I wrote was all messed up and I tried making corrections but hit the back button; losing all my work so this time short and sweat!!

  - Season 60 seen the team throw the towel in early to rest set TF and purposely drop division for I am not sure what reason. Either way TF is rest for most of the riders and now it just a matter of when do with trigger the TF to help the team score results?

  - Hot start will the team starting the season out of place in the lower division the team took advantage scoring a result every day for the first six days of the new season with four official results and two wins to the team name already. Does this trend look likely to continue? No is the simple answer as we race often and hard knowing we were out of place and hand easy chance of scoring results.

-First tour of the season with Giro Di Montelbano starts in a few days with Guillot being given the lead as the team is hopeful of a top 10 result in this tour with Guillot and also send U23 Dauphin for an off chance at the Youth Classification. Watts may also take a lead depending on placement in the final stage and he has actually been very under used so far in this season.

-No Way Norway!! Yes, We are very hopeful that we will also be able to sign up for the Norway tour this season having missed out due missing the sign up the past few season. Okay we have never raced here so we would like a chance. This once again would see the Sprint team heading the hopes for stage wins and classification with little to no hope for GC or YC placement but who knows what could happen.

-Do we or don`t we climb divisions? This I feel won`t really be in the teams control this season unless we don`t race to score points but we would like to stay in division three if we can as Kangaroo tour looks like an good option for Watts to stretch his legs for an good tour result. But Essex Tour in division 1 is also a good tour for the team with both Guillot and Watts.

  - Training: Dauphin is still unmaxed but maxed in all his sprinting abilities; which once again is a lot lower then we were hoping for but he has already proven his worth at the U23 level and filling in as a lead-out #2; which is a nice addition to the sprint team. Even if we were hopeful for an Captain and we ended up with a strong team mate at 205 SP. At this point the rest of his secondary skills will not improve his ability to help the team or himself towards captaining a few races so we might leave him unmaxed until he is much older collecting racing points instead.

  - Elory Speed training continues but will not be long before he is completely maxed but has been the first talent in two season to actually work out for the team with 207 max TT already with TQ still unmaxed (hopefully not jinxing it) and his overall TT stat will be 97 when TT center is completed making him a minimum 212 TT rider. This will make him the fourth strongest rider among our TT team with Frint at 240, Guillot at 224 and Wel at 217. We are still hopeful that he will add more sprinting to his ability before he maxes giving the team another option and replacement for Guillot.

  - Emery Finnigan - Oh, What do we do here. I have been on the fence with this rider off and on for the past two season or so; at least that is how it feels. He has the potential to be an 217 sprint lead-out or wind-breaker but he needs to max high to make the training worth while. The other day I looked through all the Canadian riders with FR training and he would hold his own so I have now switched my thoughts again about training him. I think I should train him but in the end he might be another bust or rider that simple doesn`t have a good fit for the team.

  - This also applies to younger Rupert Lancon at the age of 21, he could collect results at the U23 races but where does he fit the team after being trained as an weak LOSP with good sprint and good flat. He could be as good if not better then Watts in Max overall but my experience states anything lower then Very good main stat means they are lucky to score results and are more fitted as an Team mate. At good sprint, he also doesn`t fit really what I consider an LOSP so he would need to take the role of LO#1 meaning I am about to train two very similar riders in Finnigan and Lancon as both will become LO#1. I am currently more comfortable training Lancon then Finnigan but Finnigan has the better stats as an team mate. Right now I am holding my cash and these riders training back while I complete Speeds train in hopes something better comes along.

  - I learned something new this past week as well which might also change the way that I manage the team as I didn`t know we got paid when the release value when a rider retires as I don`t think I have actually retired a rider as they have retired when I was inactive. This means I am more likely to keep my sprint team intact until they retire so where after the again of 35 meaning I have a much larger window to find new talent and can relax a bit more since majority of my training is already completed due to all the bust I have had in the past two season. Either way it would be nice to find a replacement for Watts sooner then later but less pressure knowing he is with the team until he retires and I will still get some value back from him in the end.

It will be an interesting Season 61 as I try to figure out when to trigger TF or if I hold it for another season. Also I learned not to refresh all the TF at the same time so watch for a more calculated approach to refreshing and triggering if I can figure it out!!
